Monday, July 29, 2019To the family of Monica Muggelberg. Monica was the best room partner at Briody's! She was a delight to have with me for several weeks. We became acquainted very quickly having a lot of things in common. The fact that she knew my mother's family (from Salt and Lapp Road - the Duttweilers) She told me recently that my mother-'s brother, John, came to her house as a child for popcorn.....and she remembered my mother's whole family including my Uncle John;s wife's name Thelma - my mom was Maruerite and married my father Edwin Rohde in October of 1938. One of her daughter's worked with my first cousin, Gracie Weseman in the Lkpt. High School Cafeteria......Gracie was the daughter of my Aunt Clara Kanehl. There was one more brother,Andrew who lived across from the terrible Air Plane crash......and then there was Aunt Ida who lived with my parents. Our oldest son Steve, remembers one dauhgter from the high school. Our whole family got to know Monica and I was so glad to visit her last Thursday. We prayed that she would not suffer too long. God Bless your family. We will always remember "MONICA" AND THE CROSSWORD PUZZLES". ........and we had a lot of fun with menu! God's Peace! Dudley, Sandra , Steve, Tessa, Greg, Kim, Peter, Alyssa and Alex.

Sunday, July 28, 2019She will truly be missed. I always loved going to her house and sitting with her and Grandpa and watching all the different species of birds that would come to her feeders, that she filled everyday. She helped cultivate in me the love I now carry for birds and wildlife. I admire how hard she worked in her big garden, chopping the weeds with her hoe, hacking into the hard clay soil, dragging miles of garden hose out to water it when the sun baked the clay into rocks. This too helped build the passion that I now carry in my love of gardening. I will miss playing zonk with her and Grandpa and my family. I admired the love she had for her family during the holidays, when she would send off her pickles that she had harvested from her garden and the hundreds of cookies that would take weeks to make, she had to make so many types because one daughter liked one type and one grandson liked another and on and on. She did it with so much love for them. I will especially miss her homemade caramels, oh so good. But most of all, I will just miss her spending time talking with her about news stories, her family, gardening, and some times saying nothing. You are missed and always loved, I look forward to when I see you again. Bill Blish.
