Obituary of Jack Prout

Jack Prout, age 80, a longtime resident of Lancaster, NY, passed away on September 22, 2022. He was the beloved husband of DiAnn (Helinski) Prout for 55 years. Born on February 14, 1942, in Buffalo, he was a son of the late Clair Prout and Marguerite (Closser) Prout. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick Prout and Gordon Prout and cousin Tom Nagel. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory two children, Robert John Prout and Dean Jack (Cheryl Sciandra) Prout, all of Lancaster; three grandchildren Matthew, Lindsay, Michael and two great grand-daughters Charlotte Clair and Ava Rose of Lancaster; a sister, Carol Mesler, of El Paso, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Prout proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967, during the Vietnam War. After the service, he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Buffalo Aeronautical, Akron Airport, Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, and others. He retired as an aircraft inspector for US Airways in Pennsylvania, and the spent his last years enjoying his family, tinkering with machines, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, and riding his beloved Harley. He attended the Church of Clarence and passed after a lengthy illness. He looked forward to heaven and meeting Jesus, his Savior. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm at SHEPARD BROS FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 10690 Main Street, Clarence.
