Obituary of Alice E. Jones

JONES - Alice E.96, of Clarence, NY, entered into eternal peace December 24, 2022. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends who, through her, learned that love means so much more. Alice retired as a Registered Nurse from Sisters of Charity Hospital, having received her training during WWII through President F.D. Roosevelt’s U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps program. she will be remembered for her longtime advocacy and volunteerism through her work as a founding member of MADD Erie County; serving on the Erie County STOP DWI Victim Panel; several decades as an Erie County Board of Elections worker; her longtime active membership in the Clarence Book Review Club; and her contributions to future generations by participating in the Harvard Nurses’ Health Study and Nationwide Women’s Health Initiative. She is survived by her beloved children Wendy (Lawrence) Hamilton, Priscilla Tripi, Ruth (Edward) Spink, James (Maureen) Jones, and son-in-law, Mark Fiegl; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Al Jones; daughter, Rebecca Fiegl; grandson, Timothy Fiegl; son-in-law, Charles Tripi; and brother, Donald Greer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 31st, 2022 11:00 AM at the Clarence Presbyterian Church, 9675 Main Street, Clarence, NY. 14031. No prior visitation.
